Intro and recommendations

Hi All,
I’ve recently bought a project sprint, in reasonable condition however, it does need a bit of welding.
It’s a 78 Dolomite Sprint in green. I’m chuffed to bits, I’ve been after a dolomite for years and this is my first opportunity to own one. I’m handy with spanners, but my welding has a bit to be desired. I’ve tinkered with cars and restorations all my adult life, so very comfortable with a project.

What I’m looking for is a highly recommended welder who has worked on dolomites before and can weld the chassis rails for me. I’m happy to travel for the right person as I have a trailer. The engine and gearbox is out of the car, so it’s basically ready to have the work done, but I want the right person.

I should add that I’m in Haslemere, Surrey.

Any recommendations?

Cheers all.
Ollie

Thanks chaps.

I was hoping for someone who had worked on Dollys before, but will give those guys a shout.

Both of my suggestions are very familiar with Dolomites:

James is ‘James467’ on here…Derek’s ’handle’ will come to me shortly as he’s been on here too.

In his restoration thread, Matt Cotton recommends a mobile welder he has used, but he’s based in Birmingham so may not travel as far as you….
