Tri-metal Engine Bearings: another source.

We know about Vandervell, AE Glacier and Clevite 'Lazorlite' brands being tri-metal, but reading a non Dolomite related article a while ago, I learned that AE made engine bearings which were marketed in the USA under the 'Federal Mogul' brand as opposed to their own 'Glacier' brand.
I've just bought and imported a small quantity of new old stock Federal Mogul bearings from the USA and can report that upon opening them those which have 'made in Great Britain' or 'made in England' on the packaging are indeed stamped with the AE logo on the back exactly as their 'Glacier' brand are; those which have 'made in USA' on the packaging do not have this marking.
Whilst these Federal Mogul bearings crop up every now and again, beware you'll be charged VAT on the declared value prior to delivery and Parcel Force charge an additional £12.00 fee for processing the VAT (cheeky blighters!), so the cost will be more than just the advertised price plus postage.
Search for TR7 or SAAB 99 as both were sold widely in the USA, whereas the Dolomite never was. The Federal Mogul part number is 6592 for mains but I've not found any big end ones yet.
As they are made in UK originally and therefore being re-imported I believe the VAT can be reclaimed, but haven't yet investigated how.
