but i must admit....it had good comfy ride and i did like the 6pot crawl which is addictive but getting parts was a bit of hit and miss 10years ago....chris witor is a good source for parts and earl parts when they where around
yes good space in estate but cccccold/fffffffreezing in winter and greenhouse in summer,im not dissing 2000 range.....but im sure it will sell as not many around even if someone buy it spares

Dolomite 1300,1980`V`reg in british racing brown(russet),3.63 diff with 21t speedo pinion,95%poly`d,HL clocks,standard wheels with SE covers wrapt in 175 70 13,mot`d 19-09-2014,been off the since 1990,(july2017) stainless steel exhaust 3-piece,(xmas2018) wooden mountney steering wheel,(june2020) new monroe shock(radial front,gas-matic rears) with -1" lower`d springs all round.

An update and another decision!
I got the shell home and got to looking closely (and without the rose tinted specs) It wasn't even as good as i'd expected from the pics so i'm cutting it up for parts. I've also been to see another 2 cars both for considerably more money and have concluded that the things are just TOO complicated to repair when they get bad, there are too many inaccessible concealed box sections and other spots where you can't see rot easily till its too late!
It also occurred to me that all this is going to take much time and a quicker, simpler and far cheaper solution is to fit a towbar to the Dolomega (I already have one and the wiring is in place) and buy a small Erde type trailer to transport SWMBO's chair when necessary.
Which also means the Carledo can stay, get uprated and re-restored to a high standard and I'll see when it's done if I have a use for it!
I'm not going to mess with the body beyond doing the necessary repairs (but better than I did last time!) so it won't be an estate, or even a "long tail" to avoid problems with the DVLA.
A Z20LET is firmly on the cards with the Omega box and possibly a TR8 axle with a 3.08 LSD and some widened arches to clear it. I've seen a 2 door on FB recently that has MKI Golf GTi rear arches fitted and it looks great. With the extra (nearly) 100BHP i'll have over it's original incarnation, I can afford some more weight in the form of a rollcage and carpets so it may be even stiffer and still more civilised.
I really fancied the Estate, but I think now it's a bridge too far. But i'm not sorry to be keeping the Carledo, it's been a big part of my life for a long time, it's better to stick with what I know! I'm not ready for the pipe and slippers yet!

Trust me, NOBODY will miss this one! Even the banger racers turned their noses up. I've carefully salvaged all the few remaining decent bits and will sell them on to help other cars live on. If i'd been to see it rather than relying on pictures, I'd never have bought it in the first place and it would've probably rotted into the ground where it lay.
I'm faintly offended you think I would scrap a car that had any chance of being retrieved!
