Hello all.

Can anyone tell me please as to what this wire is meant to go to please?

It can be seen when removing the washer bottle on my 1975 1850 it lies underneath.

Part of the original loom, can't make out what colour, am thinking possibly for the gearbox on an auto (mine was originally a manual non O/D).

Any ideas please?

The same spare wire is present on my sprint built 1977.

It is white with a pink tracer.

According to my workshop manual, it connects to the ignition switch on the ‘radio’ position, and it is called No. 84 Auxiliary heater supply.

Possibly for use with electric aerials?

..... in addition if you have a Sprint built > WF 50,001 that wire ( White / Pink ) goes to an in-line splice and appears as a "72" labelled "Alternative heater supply ". I think the idea is that the green wire from the connector local to the heater motor is disconnected and then reconnected to this "72" connector. This then gives the ability to run the heater motor with the IGN set to the AUX position.
