When I built my Sprint engine a couple of years ago I deliberately set them on the bigger side with the valve clearances. I didn't want to run them too tight with the Keny Cams fast road cam. Mistake maybe?
Now its all a few thousand miles later and well settled down I would like to re-set them to make it the engine a bit sweeter/quieter.

What is the best method to do the job without risking the head gasket seal?

Unfortunately Russ, you can only do the exhausts without compromising the head gasket seal.

So I just will have to try doing the exhausts and see how much improvement that makes.
