Sprint Exhaust Manifold Ceramic Coating

I've got a feeling this will be a divisive topic but ...........

The top of the engine is in bits per broken valve spring ages ago and the long running series of events to get it fixed. The exhaust manifold is off and I'm thinking I might get it ceramic coated.

Of course this is not something that has to be done, it's a really optional thing but something I thought I might do to reduce under bonnet heat and for lesser reasons as a visual impact.

Has anyone done this? What were the results and are there any concerns/advice against doing it?

I'm thinking of going with a finish called "polished". I have a feeling that might be a polarising statement......

I have not bothered to do the manifold but I have had the downpipe coated, in an attempt to reduce the heat being radiated out into the engine bay.

One of the other reasons for coating the downpipe was that when I do any service work on either the engine, clutch or gearbox I drop the complete subframe assembly out of the car and it becomes relatively easy to break the exhaust system at the clamp you see in the photo.

I foresee no problems in doing the manifold itself.

I had a standard manifold done by Cam Coat of Warrington for the same reason. Done in matt black. Not on the road so can make no further comment.
Perhaps you should take Carledo's advice and open up the manifold internally and fit the ST. 2into 1 That might really help as well ! but where do you stop.

I lagged my down pipe, keeps the heat out of the cabin and it also improves flow through the downpipe.

Had my Toledo manifold Cerakoted by https://www.highcalibrecoatings.co.uk/ via mail order. I think it was a bit over £100 a few years ago.

Very pleased with the result, still looks great after a few thousand miles, the coating seems to be very durable. No idea about other aspect, I solely did it for appearance.
