Was overdrive fitted to early 1850 / Sprint models ?

The reason I ask is that the official workshop manual in the Wiring Diagrams page 86-1 ---> 86-3 makes no mention of the wiring to the O/D switch & solenoid for models < VA 15,000 . It seems to start at >VA 15,001 where it is only listed as an option.
The cable colours to the later models seem to be GREEN to the switch. BLACK from the switch to the in-line connector; then YELLOW / GREEN to the 3rd/4th switch and finally YELLOW / PURPLE from the 3/4 switch to the solenoid +!2V.
Is this correct please ?

Thanks,
Tony.

Yes Tony, it was an optional extra until ‘76 when it became standard on Sprints, but remained optional on other models.

I added the wiring diagram to the manual as my car was optionally fitted with overdrive.
Saved me a whole load of faf when refitting it all back in.
