1500 exhaust manifold with single carb log intake

#1 Post by Bunji »

It's been mentioned in a few threads that these 2 manifolds are incompatible.

Does anyone have details of which area the fouling occurs in?

Or is anyone in possession of both manifolds able to take photos of them together?

Cheers

The inlet will hit the centre outlets of the iron exhaust manifold.
I tried. I ground both where they touched, until I went through the inlet manifold. At which point it was clear their is naff all chance of it working.

Hi Clive. Do you recall how much additional space was needed for the intake to clear the exhaust?

I am afraid not. But unless you do something involving cutting and welding the inlet, it simply will not happen.
The best bet is the 1300 exhaust, it will fit and work. Or use the twin HS4s, which is what I ended up doing. (I wanted a single HS6, but we can't have everything we want!)
