YC is the prefix for a Dolomite 1500 engine

If you join the Club we can supply you with not only the correct slave cylinder, but one that has been internally sleeved with stainless steel for longevity.

I recently sent a defective clutch slave cylindered away for refurbishment which included fitting it with a stainless steel sleeve because I did not see it listed on the clubs current spares list so has the club recently started to get them refurbished and if so what is the cost?

I had three done Richard, as I only had three in the core pile at the time there was contention about the quality of the aftermarket ones. Two have sold and I have one left at £60. I didn't get any more done as when the manufacturer refused to modify the tooling of the aftermarket offering due to insufficient likely demand and instead terminated the product, David Manners undertook to have their stock sleeved and will operate an exchange system moving forwards. Not wishing to compete with them flavoured my decision, so they never made it onto the parts list, but I did promote the fact at the time that I had three on here and in my area report

ENGINE NUMBER YC606224HE
Hello all,
Can you help me I need to get the right slave cylinder and need to identify the engine.
I was told it was a Dolomite engine 1500 can anyone point me in the right direction to buy one, please?
Richard
Just to elaborate further... from the photo it looks like you have it installed in a kit car? If that's true then I think you need to confirm which flywheel/clutch arrangement you have. It's possible that the engine started life in a Dolomite, but changed over time. My Spitfire 1500 currently has a YC code engine installed, but the sump and flywheel were changed to Spitfire items to make it fit/work. Therefore it could have the Dolomite 1500 clutch slave rtc7215 OR the Spitfire version GSY103 (I think)
They both will FIT as IIRC the bell housing is the same, but they have different bore due to flywheel/master/clutch differences?

I had consider getting a spitfire clutch slave cylinder and filing another notch on the other side but as stated I noted that the bore sizes were different when I looked at one at MossBros recently. That is how I came to get one refurbished as I had forgotten that xvivalve had advised that he had three refurbished.

Hi,
I got a new GSY103 fitted a new one twice, and the clutch is very hard to push down so I am trying to get hold of a Dolomite 1500cc slave as I think it is the issue. I sadly threw away the old one which I truly regret doing.

Slaves are the same bore though? - Sometimes people fit a larger master 3/4" instead of 5/8th" which makes the pedal harder. I have that setup and prefer it TBH

I think you’ll find suppliers supersede the Dolomite part number to GSY103.
This is the one the Club has left:

I refer to my previopus post, did you fit a 3/4" bore master instead of the standard 5/8th", that would make it heavier to press.....

The 1500CC dolomite slave cylinder that I recently had refurbished had a 7/8 inch bore I suggest you check the bore size of the one you have fitted.

I need to correct this post I now believe the reason that I did not purchase the GSY103 was that it was an aftermarket item that had a different pipe size connections and that the bore size was the same.
