Morning all,
I’ve recently removed my axle cover and fitted a new gasket. It appears to leak a little. What’s the best way to seal it properly ?
Thanks, Richard

Use an OE gasket, not aftermarket.
Fit it whilst the gasket is in the horizontal plane
Tighten the bolts incrementally working your way round with opposing bolts.

Also check that the metal around the bolt holes is flat, previous over tightening can distor the gasket face.

I made my own with thick gasket paper, flattened cover around the holes, Used RTV on the cover side and a dab of grease on the axle side (itll be nice and flat on that surface) If I need to remove it the gasket stays on the cover and isnt stuck to the axle. Been fine for a year so far.
