I purchased a 1977 one owner 1300 Dolomite in 2019 which had only covered 15000 miles. It was fully rust proofed from new, so no rust at all anywhere, and the interior is like new. She had been stored in a dry garage for 10 years, so brakes, rad hoses, tyres, fuel lines and brake lines were all replaced with up to date materials. I replaced all the shocks with GAZ fully adjustable ride height and rebound and lowered her 1in. I also fitted 5.5J lookalike minilite wheels. I made a 4 branch exhaust manifold from a spitfire with a home made stainless steel exhaust system. Electronic ignition and an electronic fuel pump have also been fitted. Last winter I had the cylinder head reworked, fully ported and polished, head skimmed 40thou, larger inlet valves, S/S exhaust valves, hardened valve seats, bronze valve guides and stronger valve springs. A stage 1 Kent cam was also fitted with duplex timing chain. All finished off with twin HS2 SU carbs on a Spitfire manifold. the last thing was to remove the fan and replace with an electric unit. I have replaced all the rear bushes with poly one's and the front will be done this winter. Also this winter I am replacing the 4.1 rear diff for a 3.89 and next year I might fit an overdrive gearbox. All this work has made her a great car to drive, with a lot more pep and I love her.
