I find that I have nowhere to plant my left foot when driving. Seat is fully back but legroom seems to be very short. Is this common on the Sprint?

You sure the seat is fully back as they do tend to jam/stick. I can get my seat (SE) back to far to comfortably reach the pedals...

It's common on all Dolomites. There is no room for a left foot rest, and you mustn't leave it on the clutch pedal. I pull my foot back slightly and place it flat on the floor. You soon get used to doing it.

On my old GT6 I could put my left foot under pedals to give it a good stretch.

The same goes for the Sprint, more or less, not really practical between shifts in urban traffic but good enough on a long motorway run.

My Vaux powered Sprint is an auto, designed from the outset for long journeys (including RBRR) But even the auto Sprint isn't supplied with a factory footrest for ones redundant left foot! I've fitted a dead pedal as a footrest, taken from a MKII Zodiac auto (where it also operated the dipswitch) Not that I expect you to find one of these pedals, rarer than hens teeth, mine was probably the last surviving NOS one in the UK! It is however, similar to a Herald's organ pedal throttle, so maybe one of those could be adapted.

Don, when I did one of the RBRRs with a couple of "oversize" friends I extended the seat runners to enable the seat to move an extra couple of inches back. This was with MGF seats, but it must be possible to do something to give a bit more legroom.

As has been said, make sure you have full fore and aft travel.
I have encountered seized runners.
Also, have you got the full height adjustment?

I am about 1.87m tall and never had a problem with the Sprint.
The 1850 was a different story with its smaller gearbox cover, it lacks somewhere convenient
to rest your leg against.

The runners are a bit stiff, so I'll be taking the seat out and have a good inspection, clean and grease/oil. My Mrs has volunteered to sew up a couple of small splits in the seat, while it's out.

Whilst it's out, make sure the 4x1/2" spacers are present and correct twixt runner and floor. They space for the carpet/underlay and if missing (as often happens) can make the runners stiff/jam.

Also be aware the driver's seat has tilt adjustment to both front and rear as this can alter the driver's position by several inches in combination
