Which grade of petrol do people use E5 or E10 with or without any additive.

E5 without. E10 would require replacement fuel hoses as a minimum.

Even using E5 I would change the fuel hoses to Gates Barrier 100% ethanol safe (from personal experience)

E5 no additive in the 1850 and my 1500 Spitfire.

Even the good stuff, Gates Barricade fuel hose, is only just capable of resisting the ravages of E10.

Its E5 for me without additives, for preference I like Esso E5 cos it's the best RON rating (99) I use this in all my classics, even the Omega powered Sprint cos, though the 2001 Vauxhall motor can just about deal with E10, (though power is noticeably down) and even though I exclusively use genuine Gates fuel hose, the fuel system and hoses in the rest of the car are still old school and i'd rather not risk a fire.
