Some do, some don't! There's no consistency as, when the cars were registered, it was done from mostly handwritten info, by a clerk in a local government/council office who probably didn't know a Sprint from a pile of rocks!
And that info, presented that way in 1974, is what got entered into the infallible and uncorrectable DVLA computer by a fallible human who also didn't know a Sprint from a pile of rocks, 30 years later. It's no wonder you get the odd anomaly!
