 Post subject: steering column

Im tiring to remove the steering column adjustment bolt ( that adjust the column up and down and in and out ) the bolt wont come out, is there a role pin holding it in place ?

There is a pin yes, but it's a solid pin not a roll pin. It only comes out one way...

Yes, its above the column and a bit towards the right (O/S) Not so much a roll pin as a solid one if OE. Knock out with a parallel punch and a hammer, best done the hard way, from below, seems to come out easier uphill!

Thanks for the replies, ill have a look at the week end, im tiring to make a replacement bracket for electric column, but i still want the up and down and in and out adjustment i like a challenge :lol: :lol: :lol:

All my 1500HL Dolomites have had a roll pin fitted which can be very difficult to get out if you do not have the correct size diameter punch to knock it out and having got it out I have then replaced it with a nail of slightly smaller diameter from above so that it does not fall out. see the photo IMG 2760. It is then easy to get out next time.

The pin or nail replacement is on top right hand side see photograph.
