Gents

Need some feedback please.

Will be taking out the old carpets in the Sprint in the next few weeks and reaplacing with new. At the same time will be putting sound deadening in as well.

Looking at options I can see, whats peoples advise.

I do not mind paying a bit more for quality so am thinking the Coverdale option may be better, unless anyone suggests otherwise.

Look forward to hearing peoples opinions.

Thanks

Richard.

Cheers Dave. The Coverdale carpets do look like quality. If anyone has used them it would be great to get a bit more feedback.

2024 must be the year of the new Carpets, I plan doing mine this summer, would like a recommendation too!

Also, was gonna fit some sound deadening and unfelt if anyone has done this?

Regards

Barry

I fitted a set from Coverdale to MSO about 10 years ago, they seemed to be the best around at the time. They have lasted well not that the car gets used that much.
The centre carpet under the front seats is supplied in 3 sections unlike the original 1 piece, I seem to remember the bit that goes over the transmission tunnel is a bit baggy, but once the seats are in you don't see much of it anyway.
This is the only photo I have from the time.

The technical spec of the carpets differs depending on model and year (mostly year)

Early cars, ie series 1 Sprints >75 have the 3 piece main carpet, a built in gaiter for the gear lever (no coin tray) and carpet trim for the A post kick panels. Also the carpet was bonded to the underlay making each part a composite piece.

Later cars have separate carpet with a plastic back and separate underlay sections as needed, a one piece main carpet, only a hole for the geastick in the tunnel carpet and vinyl trimmed A post kick panels.

Any serious supplier should know the difference and supply according to age. (Don't forget to tell them!)

You can MAKE the early set fit a late car and presumably vice-versa (Though I guess the later set would be minus the kick panel carpet, I haven't tried the latter) but, though I'm not by any means an originality guy, this is one thing I DO like to get right.

All

I decided after a bit of research to go with the following.

https://www.carcarpets.co.uk/triumph-do ... 8643-p.asp

I am having new sound deadening put in, as mine does not have any, so costing a few quid, but should be a decent job.

I will give some feedback when done in early May.
