I need to replace fuel lines front to back on my Sprint.

Have an old fuel line that’s rotten here and there so thinking of replacing with stainless steel braided rubber hose - anyone done this and recommend supplier?

Know it’s not original etc but genuine replacement not available anyway (I don’t think)

Assume copper pipe ok with petrol ?

Certainly easy to work/shape and fit.

I use 8mm copper microbore central heating pipe available from any DIY shop or plumbers supplies. Even cheaper and easier to bend than Kunifer from the motor factors! I've been doing them like this for the best part of 20 years and never had a problem or had to replace one i've made.

To copy original patterns and make it look good and fit well is a bit of an acquired art. I use a £10 ebay pipe bender to get those nice crisp shapes.

I’ve got the old fuel line as a template and have a pipe bender so I’ll have a go

The issue with copper is the problem with it work hardening and becoming brittle. Basically you want to secure it well so it isn't moving.

I should have replied earlier but you could do a lot worse than just buying the fuel pipes that Carledo makes up - they are excellent and save a lot of messing about!

I will make pipes for anyone, the problem is the complete impossibility of shipping them!

If the OP is near enough to me (south Shropshire) to pick them up, i'd be happy to make a set. But the fuel cost to collect, these days, is a mighty big part of, or could even exceed, the price of the made up pipes, so I largely recommend people make their own. It's not rocket science, just takes patience and care to get it right first time and a willingness to abandon and restart if you make a mistake!
