Batteries and Springs....

How Chaps - I'm looking for a new battery for VA138 as it didn't have one when I got it and my Track spring has a Varley Red top in it.....
As far as I can see, a Lucas LC038 is the one to go for unless anyone here can suggest something more appropriate please?
Additionally, where do I get the three/four throttle springs from please? I have fitted three 1850 ones but I'm not sure until I fit the throttle cable to the pedal whether these are correct as they do feel a bit too stiff....AEC2075 4E7 think they are...

My Sprint has a Lucas LC038 (says LP038 on it)
Fits fine and works fine,
Peter

The stock battery is indeed an 038 but there is an HD option which, if memory serves, is a 007. This has a slightly higher A/H output but is otherwise a good fit.

Mine had a Numax 038 fitted when I got it, no idea how long it had been in there for but it is still OK 5 years later.
£54.80 delivered next day from Tayna Batteries

038 or 015 for the battery
1850 throttle return springs (145197) are a different part number to sprint ones (159463) but I think it's the length of the non sprung bit which differs...i'll have a look on my spare sets of carbs to see if i have a definite Sprint one that I can measure the pot full of springs I have against...
The spring on the underside of the linkage bracket is common to both models: UKC1624

Robsport lists 159463, the picture on the website looks correct, but I would phone and check with them before ordering:

I fitted a Varta B34 Blue to my Sprint, it's ever so slightly longer and not as wide as an 015 but it fits the standard battery brackets perfectly and without modification. 45 Amp-hour and maintenance free!

This is a Sprint spring. 159463. If your’s are a different length I can send you a set of three used ones of correct specification for a tenner inc postage.

For general/future information, the 1850 springs, 145197, are shorter having two identical ends both the same length as the short one on the Sprint example above, total untensioned length ~6.25 centimetres

Yeah, thought they were shorter based on how much effort I had to apply using my hand to get the throttle to operate!
Thanks for the info Alun.
