Hi folks,
I have today removed my manifolds in order to replace a blowing manifold gasket.
I have found that there is a stud and nut loosely joining the two manifolds.
With the assembly removed from the head I've found that if I tighten the nut, the assembly will not then align with the mounting studs on the head.
Should there be a spacer on the stud separating the manifolds? If not what is the procedure for tightening the nut?
I haven't been able to find any drawings showing this assembly for the dolly 1300.
TIA
Jim

Most of those joing studs&nuts have been lost over the years. So fret not, chuck the nut away and all will be well.
to answer your question, the inlet manifold (I think, from memory) has quite a tall "tower" and they often get damaged, possibly what has happened to yours.

Many thanks for that!
Manifolds bolted back on - (minus nut!)
All seems to be okay now.
Thanks and regards
