I believe the Omega body is/was sold in Oz as a Commodore, though with different engines. In the UK they came with 2.0 and 2.2 litre 16v 4 cyl and 24v quad cam V6s in 2.5, 2.6, 3.0 and 3.2 litre variants (depending on year) I gather you lucky guys can add a V8 or two to that list. In fact, the Omega I broke for the engine and box to put in my Sprint donated most of it's rear suspension to an imported Aussie V8 Commodore that had gone sideways into a kerb!Sprintparts wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 11:02 pm Hi Dave,
Would you know know the part number of the Vauxhall concentric slave that is used for the conversion? We don't have Omega's in Australia, (could be the same or similar to our Holden Vectra), but in the aim of keeping this post a source of information for others, the part number would help.
thanks
Mark
The gearbox and slave I use is from the smaller 4 cylinder model, but I gather the V6 one is the same bit. When I had to replace mine, I got one from ebay without any bother. I'll do a bit of research tomorrow and see if I can come up with a part number.
Steve
PS, If you come across a V8 Monaro (2 or 4 door) going cheap, i'm interested!
