Triumph Dolomite Boot Seal

Hi,

Pictures below show the replacement boot seal I have received for my 1972 Triumph Dolomite 1850.

Does anyone have any views on whether this looks like the correct seal? Just looking at it next to the car, it looks rather too fat and therefore unlikely to fit. Is there another version of the seal I should be getting instead?

Would very much appreciate hearing member’s views and if there are any particular points/tips I should keep in mind in order to successfully fit?

Cheers

David

The boot seals you can buy today are indeed too fat and may prevent the boot lid from shutting or if it does not sitting flush. NOS if you are lucky, or find a good used one....

Where did you get it from ?

As already stated good nos is your best bet, but i have known people use COH Baines with positive results it may prove a decent alternative.

Thanks Alun & Charlie.
:D
I’ll give the alternative a go as suggested by Charlie.

Before you buy one from Baines, ask if they supply the place you bought the first one from...they probably do!

I have just had one from Chris Wittor fits perfectly. Rimmers were not good.
