I need to take my Latham F2 for a rolling road session to get the twin Webers tuned. Can you recommend someone familiar with both Webers and Dolomite Sprint engine. I live on the Isle of Wight so looking for something within reach of the ports of Southampton, Portsmouth or Lymington, New Forest.

I used Tom Airey back in 2012 for my car, it was quite old skool with analogue rolling road etc, but he did a good job.

He was getting on a bit back then, but I believe his son is now part of the business.
Here's my car on the rolling road.

I have also heard Ray West at Thruxton is good, but gets very booked up & is expensive.

Tom Airey is definitely still in the game. He tuned my Sprint a couple of weeks ago (twin SUs). He's not the cheapest, but I'm quite pleased with the outcome,

Good to know, how much did he charge for twin SU tune, he doesn't say on his website?
I am thinking of getting my latest resto tuned.

There is a bit on his website called Clients & Costs.
https://www.aireytuning.com/#ourclients
It quotes "For 2 Twin Chock Carbs, 4 cyl £480 + Parts No Vat" and he treats SUs the same.

Wow. That's a lot more than Peter Burgess charged me for a day on his RR tuning the twin SUs on my Spitfire!

Back in the day, Tony at Red Line Tuning in Colnbrook used to charge £20. He was a proper old school tuner and would sand needles down to get everything spot on. Every few minutes you’d have to stop talking as he was right under the LHR flight path.
Did anybody else use him ?
