Hate to p155 on your fire there chap, but my £300 Sprint went through it's MOT with no welding at all - only needed a little attention to the earths on the front indicators in fact.

My £500 sprint went through the MOT with no welding. It had a 2" rust hole in the driver's side front turret though...

My FREE car needs 2 mot patches (and another two that could do with tidying) and everything works including the 1970s fitted intermitant wiper control.

Mine didn't need any welding for the MOT either! £250 purchase and roughly twenty quid's worth of bits for the test, although she does still need a fair bit more spending on her...

Not even close Adam,

Orange, £100 purchase, £100 to MOT including the MOT fee, £110 to tax, £21 quid less than the 9 months remaining on the car it replaced and another £65 back from the In-sewer-rats company. Net cost £224 :-) 7000 miles since May.

Gonna be at least another 2 MOTs I reckon before Orange needs any welding, more if I can get to it with the waxoyl every spring.

Beat that.

[Correction] I remember now. £50 to MOT, all it needed was rack boots. I also gave it new bearings and a head. Head cost nowt except the gasket set. £100 is the fair figure to use still.

My 1300 fwd cost me £150 to buy with no MOT cost £35 for mot then a further £70 for bits (botton ball joint D/S top ball joint P/S Track rod end D/S and rear bearing needed tightening up)

Year later and another £35 for the mot and she needed a steering gaiter £3.55!!

shes tax exempt so nothing there!!

2yrs, 3000miles and £143.55 in mot cost....im quite happy being shes nearly 40yrs old!! she has been welded but not by me!

Apart from mot shes had a new water pump, battery and coil, points leads and condenser!! cost of roughly £60!!

Problem is with my car as she looks so original i dont know how long parts have been on there so its a case of replacing them as and when!!

The glass coil that was fitted gave up the ghost the other saturday but i have been told the 1300 was never fitted with these and the coil could be well over 70yrs old!!

Has anyone else had/got a 1300 with a glass coil?

Nah its....

Wife's tahiti blue...
free with stuck clutch and dead battery...
Took new battery and free'ed at vendors by driving it round the block til it freed
Drove it home gave her a tenner for the petrol in the tank as I felt guilty.
Passed MoT next day with tail light bulb.
lent to variouse friends for a year or so...they paid the tax.

Still have it 5 years on...has had the old cill and boot floor patch on the way. Also changed engine and clutch...(swapped engine for a dead 1500-HL also free....)
Just treated it to the full Gary respray. Looks lovely.Piad for by the GPO who kindly bashed the rear wing and gave me 500 quid to fix it.

Our 3 rail overdrive TR7 car was also free at the time...dead engine but structuarlly brilliant and tax free too. You're all bored of hearing about it.

The scruffy pimento job was only a ton 15 years ago...

Thats 3 that have beaten you that are mine...
