fusebox upgrade

#1 Post by triple tango »

Thought you all may be interested in my fusebox upgrade.
I had to get rid of that ridiculous standard fuse"box". I have managed to do this with minimal chopping & altering to the original main loom.
The original wiring for the fuses has enough "give" to reach into the car, these 2 fuses are now in bottom left of new fuse box

Next pic shows wiring to old fuses entering new box.

All the original loom & fuses now do is trip relays for individual items.

Nah, I really enjoy vehicle electrics, kind of relaxing.
I know that may seem odd!

Triplecustard, your excellent conversion work fitting an upgraded fusebox would make a good article for inclusion in Dolly Mixture, in my opinion.

well electrics are relaxing, I shut myself in the garage put the radio on & twiddle with my wires- very peacefull!

Since I posted first pics, the fuse I labeled "spare" is now side lights.

Well done i am planning a similar setup in the new sprint, as it has s##t 1850 electrics and the sprint electrics are terrible

Could be a bit tidier, in an enclosure or something?

it has tranparent cover & sits up under dash, wiring is all hidden & tidy. Photos taken halfway through job with fusebox hanging from wires & supported by my hand! Dont worry finished job is definately not untidy!

Coo that looks like a proper job I have fitted relays on my headlamps to save frying the std switch, and have bought but not fitted a 6 row of sealed fuses to replace the standard box in the engine bay.
