Triumph promotion 1979

whilst flicking through the coventry telegraph tonight came across the
"pic of the past" and its a picture of 6 factory workers carrying a spitfire shell into Barclays bank it reads..
In june 1979 men from triumph car preparation garage in templer Avenue took a spitfire body from the chassis and droped it inside barclays bank on flechamstead highway
The car was reassaembled inside as part of a display to enourage lacal industry and got alot of interest, as many of the banks customers were employees from the canley factory where the spitfires were made!
I cant scan the pic, i have no scanner! but is not somthing you would usally see in a bank. imagin Jag doing that today?

It also tells of a new book out bout the Triumph marque...it reads.....

A NEW book about one of Coventry's best-loved motoring names has been published in time for Christmas.
Lavishly illustrated, Triumph Sport and Elegance, from Haynes Classic Makes Series, combines a brief history of the marque with expert information on the different models.
Triumph was a relatively small maker of high-quality vehicles in Coventry from the early 1920s until the war.
Post-war the company revitalised and expanded to produce millions of cars, many of which are still in use today.
The last model, the Acclaim, began production in 1981 and the name disappeared in 1984.
Triumph Sport and Elegance, by Bill Piggott, from Haynes Publishing, is available in hardback, priced £19.99.
