Tripod Thread

I'm making a bracket for my track Sprint for a camcorder to sit on. Can anyone tell me the standard thread size for screwing tripods or similar into the bottom of cameras/camcorders?

standard camcorder screw in mounting is 1/4" thread, I thought...I Googled it but came up with nothing concrete.

Here we go:

Standard 1/4" #20 mounting thread screw on camcorder

Get a bolt and thread it in, see if it fits

Easy way to check!

I'll be writing a review of the stickypod system I've got soon, so I'll link that up when it's done. Expect lots of random 'chase' footage to turn up as well

go to your local motorbike shop as you can buy mini tripods for mounting camcorders to bike tanks.

OK, it's ¼" thread...I'm pretty sure it's BSC.
