Ok, trying to organise a pet food run/worthy cause type thing. Maybe RSPCA in Potters Bar? Probably mid December?
Anyone London/Herts based up for it? Can't do it on my own
Good publicity and a nice thing to do.

Yeah, I'm up for it in principle.
Won't be in the Dolly though cos it'll be tucked away in the garage for its winter hibernation.
Let me know what you have in mind

I'm being a thicky here, but what exactly would it entail Ken? I'm officially on a budget and (for the time being at least) without any taxed/insured vehicles but do have some spare time on my hands while I continue the post-travelling work hunt.

No worries. This is something that is popular in the biking world but easily translates into our world.
1. Try and find a bunch of folk who fancy getting involved.
2. Obtain copious amounts of animal food, cat, dog, small furry critter stuff. Usually blagged from T*sco et al, on the premise that it's a good thing to do, or from various kind hearted folk in the locality.
3. Contact the local animal shelter and make them aware of what you are going to do, and arrange a date to do it. Also make the departing venue aware of what you are doing too. Maybe this could be the Ace Cafe.
4. Perhaps even the local press.
5. Take pet food to XXX in the Dollies/Tollies/FWD, etc. If near Xmas (best idea) then decorate cars accordingly. Hand over the foodstuff and get to stroke puppies and kittens till you can't take anymore
6. Go to local pub and have a nice time after having done something nice.
7. Write up an article for DM
Lots of biker folk did this kind of thing on a regular basis. They also did Toy Runs for kids in hospital...... a damn good cause IMHO.
I used Pet Run as the basis for this. Anything worthwhile is cool.
So there you go. Anyone else up for this?

If this gets enough interest then it might be an idea to do it throughout the TDC community nationwide...a christmas toy/pet food run for the local hospital/childrens shalter/RSPCA/dogs trust etc would be a really nice thing to do!!
Get some media (local tv news) so people know what were doing
It gets the cars out dress them and do a good thing for the kids/pets around christmas!!
Im up for it and im sure i could get some interest from the rest of the cov group!!
So what about all the other area groups??
Come on it would mean giving up a morning for the less fortunate at christmas!!

Ken, love to mate but time is such a grossly limited commodity for me I just can't commit.
That said if your destination is the cats protection HQ at Chelwood Gate I'll find it impossible to miss and turn up with all I can muster.
This fella was incarcerated there until last November. Now he's a spoiled little monster but we love him.
He's sat on my desk watching me type this.

BTW, fantastic scenery in the Chelwood Gate area. Edge of Ashdown forest and also spitting distance from the Bluebell Railway.
