Electric Windows

#1 Post by David6214 »

When going through my collection of rusty (and not so rusty) parts today I came across some electric window winders for the front of the triumph. These have clearly been adapted from something else (pics to follow for anyone who can identify them) but it got me thinking, what modernising modifications have people made to their dollys. I saw central locking on the 1500 that won the competition in practical classics (or whatever else it was) but wondered what else had been done....

Saw a yellow Sprint at Ally Pally with electric windows and a rear wiper. Saying that, BWD had one. Don't know if it was standard or ???

BWDs rear wiper was definitely not standard. Not sure if it even worked.....Nick, have you sorted out that switch panel and got the rear wiper to function

(reading that back its open to innuendo....)

I've taken that horrible switch panel off completely, along with the extra lights. I was intending to have a go at fixing the rear foglight and possibly the wiper at some stage, but obviously they're not high on my priority list!

Being fairly electrically minded I've got a few ideas for such tricks, just waiting on time and money....

there was a red/silver dolly around last year that had the rear door handles removed and panel smoothed and the front doors wearing what looks like vectra handles.
a panel was also put over the under bonnet gap between the bulk head skins.

looks quite cool, even if you don't like it the work looks impressive.

I remember seeing it a few years before and I'm sure it did'nt look quite like that, why did'nt he make it a sprint thought?

I thought door handles were the old Rover 200 series up to 1995, or the Honda rebadged
