I know that the 'all-systems-go' light cluster is different on the pre-1976 cars - it has seperate lights for left and right indicators (later ones had just the one), but I think the wiring for the dimmer will be self-contained.<br>

Sorry of digging up an old thread and many thanks again for the advise.<br>

The issue seems to have been the auto-adjusters. Off-side lever (internal) is missing altogether and the near-side one was bent. I just manually adjusted them is far as I could and still get the drum on and the car ...

I thought it might have been Sprint cables but the problems has been the same for 3 sets (including the originals) so I'm fairly certain that's not the problem, but will check the part number.<br>

I fitted new hand-brake cables during the week but they're just as bad as any that were fitted before - this will be the 3rd set. It's like the inner cables are too long. Even though it's adjusted right up at the wheel end the handbrake lever is still ...
