Track Day Dates 2003

Here are the dates for Castle Coombe Track Days...<br>

CCC Action day 1.......Saturday 26th April 2003<br>
CCC Action day 2.......Saturday 14th June 2003<br>
Classic & sports car Action Day...Saturday 30th August 2003<br>

£20 for 5 laps..(sometimes more,depends on the marshall at the time + any incidents that happen!!)<br>
£8.00 admission on the gate (unless you have a free track pass).<br>

ooooooohhhhhhhh yess the 26th sounds good to me never been around there,<br>
Ill have to follow you so you can show me the lines,<br>
is it a fast circuit or plenty of slow corners ?<br>
Do you have to book in advance , passengers allowed?, helmets compulsery ?,<br>

No need to book,just turn up (be there early!!).Helmets are compulsary,yes you can take a passenger round,seatbelts must be worn,drivers must attend classroom briefing...takes about 10 minutes,arms and legs must be covered up.<br>
They have a strict rule of NO overtaking on the bends and any driving deemed dangerous will liable the CAR banned from the track.<br>

The sound limit is set by the local council (as not to upset the locals!!) and is strictly enforced...you will not be let onto the track if the noise is above the limit even if your car is road legal <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :( --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /frown.gif ALT=":("><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> My friend found out the hard way with his fancy 'sports' exhaust on his BMW <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :lol --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <br>
It is a good circuit but they have put in a chicane on the long straight to slow things down a bit.<br>

Its worth booking in advance if you can.<br>

If you book in advance you can get a track pass and admission for two for £28 and extra lap passes for £18. Its normally £8 per adult for admission only.<br>
<br>
IMO they still don't police it well enough and its very obviously orientated around maximising revenue. There's no real attention to the cars they send out apart from checking noise levels and it would be better if they didn't mix everything from mini's to cossies in the same sessions with 30 odd cars at a time going out. It can get chaotic!<br>
<br>
If we get enough people together it would be nice to have a session with Dolomite domination. It would be good to see some of the smaller engined dollys there too.<br>
<br>
Still its a bit of a hoot and I'll be there on the 26th to give my car a shake down.<br>
<br>
And its amusing seeing the panic in first time coombers when they slam the brakes on at avon rise and enter quarry backwards <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :lol --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> .<br>
