Homologated parts for Sprint
I am re-building and uprating my Sprint with the intention to go to trackdays and compete in Sprints, hillclimbs and maybe CTSCC Post Historic Series.
I have read the thread on Webbers which which were homologated for racing 45's or 48's ?

Does anyone know where I can get a list of other homologated parts for the Sprint. MSA regulations are good but there is nothing specific for individual cars.

Thanks,

Re: Homologated parts for Sprint
For Sprints and Hillclimbs your pretty much free to do as you wish as long as its a Sprint engine! MSA scrutineers dont really pay too much attention (other than the safety aspects of the car) unless your seen to be beating the competition by a hefty margin.

Its only when you get into 'proper' racing that such things become an issue.

I've no idea which parts were homologated but I think most racers run 48's as top end power is more important.

You best bet is to speak to some of the post historic racers - i take it youve had a look at www.csccgb.co ... ??

homolagated bits
Have a look at speedracers site there are 2 cars on there one being an original broadspeed group C touring car with a list of all the mods and bits on it all the bits ya can run for historic touring cars for a dolomite sprint. I was talking to the owner the other day and apart form a block replacement its pretty much the same as it ran in the 70s

Homologated Parts
were the performance parts that a manufacturer applied to the motorsport authority to use on their cars in competition, ie carbs, gearboxes, diffs, shocks, springs etc. The homoligation papers for the Sprint are / were still available from the MSA in England for a fee. For track days and hill climbs I would think 45's would be the best as these would give better lower end torque and better drivability

The Gp 1 Rally cars were homologated with 48's so I would expect the race cars to be the same.

If you get them set up properly they should work fine although if you are not doing any other mods, 45's would probably be a better bet.
