Re: Attn Alun - 4 branch
Will 'Phil' & pipe be at Cosford then?

Re: Yes
that was a nice piece of kit and from what mark was saying a complete pig to build - you could still get to the spark plugs too unlike some i've seen. I'll have some photos shortly.

I'm not sure if the engine position was quite the same though.

The accessible starter motor was good too.

ken
Is mr Osbournes the black racer? If so I had a chat with him the other day. The starter mounted on top of the bell housing was from Peugot IIRC or was that the clutch? Anyway a damm sight more accessible and saved about 10lb so maybe one for you competition boys then smifter.Do you already use electric waterpump? using high rpm I think you would find a noticable difference .
I also liked the overflow from the header tank leading to the rear of the bonnet so that anything expelled was caught early on the bottom of the screen. Not that the average sprint owner is paranoid about cooling or anything<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

Re: ^
The overflow position may be to stop it from chucking water over the n/s front tyre.

I have seen the motor conversion too on race cars in the past.

Darren - Do you have any contact details for Ken Clark?

Does he appear on here?

As for leccy w/pump - not yet - but it might be quite soon looking at the amount of oil pissing out of the waterpump slot at the moment.

Re: Ken Clark
There was a feature on him, CPR Engineering and the CPRINT in Classic Cars about 8-10 years ago. Its in the library somewhere in the east wing, I'll scan it and distribute if anyone is interested......

Ken Clarke - just a word of warning...
Myself and another TDC member in the midlands have had work done on our Sprints (mech and body) which we were both very dissatisfied with for various reasons. Would never use him again personally, but that is just my opinion.

FYI, his workshops are at Honiley, near Balsall Common, Warwickshire.
