Autosport International at the NEC
Apologies for the late notice on this but it has crept up on me without me realising.

The above event takes place this weekend (Well Friday as well if you are a Trader) and I am told it is the place you go to if you want to hunt out some real bargains such as a £400 crash helmet for £150. That type of thing.

Anyway, have a look for yourself. I'm going to be there on the Saturday. Any takers, let me know and maybe we can meet up for a coffee which will probably cost the best part of £5
Re: Autosport International at the NEC
I should be there - a sales engineer I know who happens to be an ex formula 2000 champion and is racing in the Caterham race series this year is getting me gratis ticket.

I recommend going to the show arena - brilliant display last year of rally cars (and they had Jo Guest and a dozen rubber clad dancers to distract from the cars).

Mail me and I'll let you know my mobile number and we can meet up for a session on the kart track. gjs1234@hotmail.com

Wot i fort of the day
Having spent the vast majority of the day surrounded by max power oiks, my powers of spelling have deteriorated.

On a serious note, when you could find your way past the spotty oiks taking pictures of the scantilly clad corporate teasers with their camera phones it became quite an enjoyable day. I wasn't prepared for all the small children that most people seemed to have dragged along.I've got 2 of my own but wouldn't have dragged them along because there was absolutely nothing for them to do.

Anyway, I bought a few things which I'll add to my diary page. I'd thoroughly reccommend the day to anyone that goes with a list of things that they need as there are big savings to be had.

The Coys car auction was quite interesting and I hung around for a couple of hours to watch. Here are some of the more interesting results. These are hammer prices and don't include the other bits that get stuck on.

1980 Ferrari 400i (clean) £6100
1970 E type S2 Fhc (v clean) £11,500.00
1996 Xj6 Chausseur 450 Tornado £17,500.00
(apparently 90k when new!!!Its an xj6!!!So what if the engine has been tuned!)
1976 XJ12 coupe. (mot but tatty) £600.00
1999 Marcos Mantis (race car that won the 1999 challenge and fitted with new engine.loads of spares) £12,600.00
1985 BMW M635 coupe (Tidyish 88k miles) £2850.00
1990 ERA Mini (tuned special with T5 Turbo) £5300.00
1960 Warwick GT saloon (V clean.ready 2 race) £8850.00
