Crois en Ternois anyone?

#1 Post by tryitnsee » Mon May 29, 2006 9:32 am

Fellas, as I can't make Lydden as spectator ( friends wedding in Duesseldorf ) - anyone planning on going Franco for the weekend? Prepare to be questioned on the builds though! I'm sticking to road/track days for now so no racing secrets needed - just something to help annoy the backward c(r)ap brigade.

Hi and welcome to the board. I don't recall seeing your user id before so you will have to tell us a bit regarding yourself and your project.

I'm seriously considering the Crois round. I'll let you know in the coming weeks if its a definite. Either way, I'll post a list of entrants. It may well be that a couple of the other Dolly racers go. All are very approachable and happy to talk about their cars so don't be shy.
Project ( standstill! )

#3 Post by tryitnsee » Tue May 30, 2006 1:27 pm

I'm looking at a stripped out shell ( did that to replace floor corners and check sills ) while my folks attic strains under the weight of the interior. It's a rolling shell at present - spare engine in but not hooked up. Original motor here at my place awaiting my decision and (of course ) funds. Impeding the progress are a few factors.
1. Dolly is at my folks place ( Sunderland ) - I'm in Brussels.....
2. I'm starting a business so snowed under and fighting legal doc's in 3 languages to stay ahead of belgo tax man!
3. Got my 2500S welded up - just to refit and touch up paintwork
4. Girlfriends 2000MK1 just got rear-ended ( not badly ) - but highlighted state of bodywork and rust in general.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">
5. Spitfire - fine when I left it with my sis, but I have a habit of finding things wrong when I get back to UK - to the remarks of 'OH - I forgot to mention....'
6. Alfa GTV's ( SORRY ) rear brakes seized on AGAIN and caught light while a friend was driving it - so work needed there too obviously
....... OH - nearly forgot - Citroen DS I bought as a rebuild PROJECT - of course the minute I took the rear wings off and started - the rest of the fleet all demanded their piece of my inadequate attention!

Slowly finishing the 25000S as my daily driver - then the 2000MK1 as the ladies ( she'll sell her jap-mobile ) get the Alfa brakes done for the last time - new TuV ( yup - german ) and sell! Drag out the Citroen and get on with the rebuild ( nothing major really - just outer skin in places ) as ladies Xmas gift ( she doesn't know about it yet ). Somewhere in that I'm coming to UK and towing my Sprint over here to get cracking on her too.I can't decide between the 2500 and the 2000 but the Dolly is the only one I'm determined to hang on to! She's heading for a major upgrade - or a friend is trying to talk me into fitting the Rover 2.0Turbo motor........ ideas? She's only for road/track use so no reg's to stick to.
I know I know, trim the fleet first, then stick to one at a time..... I did! Then they all went wrong at once after 4yrs no trouble ( apart from the Alfa - but that's only normal! ).
