The image is hosted ph.uncle-dave.co.uk/upload/index.php

You then find the pic, click 'properties' and then copy that to the image link when you post here. That's a 4.5 but is very similar obviously. I think that was my champagne glass on there as well!
360hp! What kind of 0-60 and 1/4 mile time will that get you?

You'll have to super charge it aswell <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":b">

Urban Myth?
Peter Wheeler reported as instructing his boys to develop their own in house v8 once news broke of BMWs purchase of Rover as he 'wasn't going to stick a german engine in his cars'!

I presume he knew it was originally an american engine...

AJP
The quoted 360bhp is closer to between 330bhp-340bhp from the rolling road figures I've seen on the net. The 4.5 engine puts out about 40bhp more than the 4.2 even though its quoted as 420bhp! Some 'red rose' engines which basically have higher compression and a few other goodies put out around 440bhp.

0-60 for the 4.2 is 4.2secs funnily enough (3.9 for the 4.5), 0-100mph is 9.9secs in the 4.2 and 8.9secs in the 4.5.

I did santa pod in mine yesterday and managed a 13.9sec run with a terminal speed of 108mph in 3rd gear. The strip was so slippy though even the 4 wheel drive guys struggled for grip. I was only trying to pull away with 2000rpm and I just sat there spinning the wheels!

Someone with a worked on 4.5 did a 12.3 in the summer so my time wasn't herrendous.

Phil. Do you want me to give you some basic mesurements to start with like total width including air boxes and bulkhead to front pulley? Let me know. Snow problem.

Are the accelerations times going to vary much when its planted in the dolly? The dollys lighter isnt it but the back tyres are going to let it down arent they?
Re: basic mesurements
I would love to be able to do one of those natty drawings but can't so you will have to put up with this!

If the engine doesn't have its airboxes on, then the dimensions are:

19 inches wide between throttle pot intakes on each bank.
26 inches between front pulley and bulkhead.
23 inches between water rails on each bank. (They run just below the throttle pots.

With airboxes on:

37 inches wide ( at the very widest point which is around 10 inches forward of the front pulley)

I'll see if I camn find any decent diagrams that Joo mentioned.
