Re: Re:I'll be happy
I didn't see the Skoda guy but that is pretty impressive.

So it sounds like you have the early clatter cams. ithink they give more peak power but wear quicker. Can't remember what I read on them. That 'plasticman' seems to know his stuff. Has he told you where he got all that knowledge?

Jesus, I feel sorry for that Spanish kid if he spent that much on mods and hadn't even cracked 400bhp.

Santa Pod sounds like a good idea. See if we can get others from here and PH to come along and make it a bit more interesting.

Phil,

Have you tried calling any of the TVR indies in your area? Just kindly ask to photocopy it/take high quality pictures of it of which you don't mind paying etc. Tell them your project and I'm sure they would help out. What you are doing is so rare in TVR circles that most people are very intrigued (and admit liking Dolly Sprints which was unexpected!).
Re: TVR specialist...
Sorry. I can`t help, the only TVR stuff we have is a few brochures and we did have a repair times book but that seems to have disappeared. TVR, like mercedes up until a month ago were one of the manufacturers that didn`t like to sell it`s information, to the point where they won`t even allow us to value their cars, even though the likes of Porsche etc do.

I thought the European Block exemption rules were supposed to stop this sort of thing going on?
You need someone with a TVR to ask maybe?

Have you seen this Phil? Don't know what condition yours is if it came with the engine.

Any joy on that wiring or are you just going to make your own loom up?
Brings to mind the resistance that bloke up north met when he tried to put TVR's speed6 into his TR6.

Block Exemption
To be honest we`re not to interested with smaller manufacturers anymore as we mostly supply to the fleet industry, however you are correct in what you say Smifter, pottentially we (Glass`s Guide) could simply call up TVR and ask for the info and they by law have to sell it to us but basically they can name their price which will basically be a lot, so far all the companies we buy info from have all wanted to know how we plan to use the data and how much profit we make from it, this is how they arrive at the price they charge. I think merc charge us in the region of £10k for example.

I do remember reading that he wanted to fit the Speed Six but didn't he sell it (Had a offer he couldn't refuse CASH).

Despite all the negative back up from TVR dealer's I'm still going ahead with this one.

Scott,
My pipes appear OK but I may have a go at them anyway.

Re: Block Exemption
There was mention of someone trying to put a proper repair manual together on them but judging by various comments, he's disappeared off the face of the planet.

What Phil is doing is unique I think which creates the problem. Dealers and indies don't need to understand the wiring, its just plug and play. If it doesn't work, swap it for a new section.

I'm suprised no-one hasn't sneaked one out from the factory and offered assistance. Have you thought about going along to the next TVRCC meet in your area Phil and explain what you are doing. You never know, someone might have better connections than the PH crowd.
