Child support agency

#1 Post by algtj » Wed Jan 18, 2006 7:58 pm

Any Solicitors out there that fancy a crack at this one!? Fuck*rs now want more than my shirt, because I pay!?
Short of slotting the ex-wife I am running out of options. I am suspecting they are penalising us chaps that pay, to sort their stats out.
How does this grab you, 30% of pay as max they can take officially, they took 10 months to re-assess, so now I have to pay 42%..........
And I owe over 5 grand in back pay. Arse, my ex is bloody loaded!!!
The Al is angry!!! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /devil.gif ALT=":evil"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:">
You could always just stop paying. That seems to work well. I read the CSA costs more to administer than it pays out. Failing that, quit your job and become a bailiff, as they are farming out the £3bn worth of debt they are owed.

An old friend had the same problem,so every six months he would leave his current job, then start another one.It used to take the csa(who wanted an extortionate amount) around six months to trace where he was working..so in the end(about three years)they gave up.He was all the time though, paying his ex wife a normal weekly amount that he could just about afford, the ex saw sense in the end and realised that it was better to have his amount rather than nothing at all..

get some good legal advice and challenge the assesment, particularly if your ex has a new partner living in. You could challenge for partial custody of the kids too in that case...Hire a private dick to dish some dirt on the new man. If you win down goes your asesment.
csa

#7 Post by 1300dolly » Thu Jan 19, 2006 1:22 am

After years of paying csa £330 a month for my daughter who i see most weekends, i pay for most her clothing, holidays, horse riding, mobile phone bill (but im still an absent father!!) i found out the ex was only getting £180 pm from csa,so we asked where the other £150 went and csa said
'admin costs'. so we have now drawn up our own agreement where i pay less but she is better off. it will cost you £50-100 to have a solicitor draw up a payment order then tell the csa to sod off. csa will only chase the monie if your ex tells them you r not paying.
The csa will tell you the legally tthis can,t be done but the courts will be on your side as long as the payments are kept up (pay by DD or standing order monthly into an account in the kids name, this will be your proof)
Hope this helps
Justyn
Pm me if you need more help/advise. or i can speak to you at stoneleigh.
The problem here chaps is I work for the Government on a pensionable contract (which to be honest is a good pension) and I simply can not afford to quit, move and change jobs.
Every time I have been to court for a reasonable access agreement my ex-partner (Re-married) moved house and changed solicitors, thereby forcing me to take a bite of the sh*t sandwich all over again.
Adding insult to injury she had the affair, and could claim legal aid! To be honest I ran out of will on that one and walked away.
I am just a little tired and frustrated that after eight years apart, the evil woman can still drop kick me from the penalty spot, wearing kit sponsored by the Government and get away with it! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:">
Same old story with this govenment; hit the easy targets.

CSA, car insurance, council tax, you name it, those that pay cover the shortfall of those that don't.

If I swapped my qualifications for an ASBO or two, a ruck of illegitimate ill behaved children and my house for a council flat I could get pissed every day doing nothing instead of working until midnight.

As Justyn says, the CSA is there to provide facility for those children who have been abandoned or are not getting a just share. If you can sort out your own arrangement with the ex through legal means then surely they will have no remit to chase you further?

Their offices are up the road from me, sorry, I helped to design them!

You could always ask your boss to send her an MIA report, by the time she could ask you be declared legally passed away the child would be too old to claim<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">

This is me. For how much longer I don't know. As ever Al, if there is anything I can do. Usual pinchpoints would be if she has mis-declared hers or her partners assets or earnings.
A guy I used to work with in the Police hung himself after being rogered for years by the CSA for his 4 kids. He used to take home 1800 per month and after the CSA had their bit it left him with 600 for his mortgage and money to live on for the month. Poor bastard.
does any remember the csa's original mission statment?
It was something like' tracking down the absent fathers to make them pay for the kids they deserted'
The new statement is..
Its easier to get money out of fathers who are still in contact with the kids cos we know where they are. so we dont waste time and money tracking down the ones who don't want to pay.
This the csa have openly addmitted, ok they didn't say those words but thats the translation.
I've had a few clients who have called us and said, "Can you trace my ex husband? The CSA told us to contact an investigation company if we want them to pursue him as they haven't got the resources to trace him."

Unbeleivable.
Al do you still have plans for the building? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /devil.gif ALT=":evil"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">
Scott I don't think I can afford you and even if you can prove anything untoward in the ex's claims I seriously doubt the CSA would do anything about it anyway. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/mad.gif ALT=">:">
I am rather hoping the system goes into self destruct shortly.... Time will tell.
Thanks for the comments and support folks. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D">

Fully sympathize here Al. I'm not sure about the RAF, but i would guess it is very similar to the Army. The CSA (should you stop paying) will contact the Paymaster General direct, and have the money taken from your pay packet before you even see it.

How about that for an injustice...guilty until proven innocent.
