And Allegros in 1973? Let alone an Allegro 2!
Def not an allegro 2, but www.austin-rover.co.uk has an Allegro Brochure dated April 1973, so they would have been around.

Good show, the wife spotted the Toledo at the end. Was most impressed she knew what it was. It's nice to see some 70's cars on the TV for a change i.e. not on the Sweeney of The Professionals. I think the 70's are coming of age now so hope to see some more retro cars on the box.

I keep looking to find some flaws in there e.g. the wrong cars but hopefully they have done their research!

The Cortina is far too clean to be a CID car and you've got to pity the plod who tries to get suspects into the back of his Allegro with it's rather crappy rear seat access.

Probably be easier to pop the rear windscreen out and put them in through there... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">

You are right Dave. I thought they were a 74 onwards car. Definitely ahead of their time then!!
It didn't come much better than the episode of Heart Beat I caught at my Mum's the other week; a Triumph 2000 in the background and 'Dazed and Confused' by Led Zepp playing, not once but three times!

Was a 3, one of the very last. Bloody fantastic though all the same!
Anybody know the rules on white lettering on black number plates? Think it stopped in 74.
I just hope none of the rounds from the hand guns go through the Toledo in next weeks show!!! <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... ns/eek.gif ALT=":eek">

I tell thee, he was having some fun with the crosswind! I managed to time it just right to be at the front of the traffic queue as he came in, it looked like I was going to be toast for a while...
a cracking picture Jod...
I reckon some of the aviation mags (Flypast, Aircraft Illustrated etc) would be well up for sticking that in. Maybe pay you a bit too...
Ssssshhhhhhhh! I like undeserved credit!
And the crown is welcome to some money from me, the Queen's servants have already taxed me to within an inch of suicide, maybe charges for unauthorised use of an aeroplane photo will complete the job.
