Aluminium Manifold?

Oh, all right then. I was thinking of selling it for lots of money as I can't afford the webers to stick onto it so I"ll devalue it by replicating it instead! But you are right Scott; Club supply and therefore Club benefit.<br>

Friction? Well to the uninitiated I thought it the simplest explanation. Obstruction, change of direction, particle collision yes, exacerbated by friction from the sides of the vessel which even with a gas its contribution should not be underestimated; even with the best gas flowing preparation at molecular (or even particle) scale the surface would still have huge chasms evident which would interupt and slow the gas.<br>

Then of course as the particles slow down may have a contributory cooling effect on the gas...<br>
<br>
Then there is the coander effect which as the gas cools and slows it drops away from the sides of the vessel, the dropping particles having further retardation effect on the particles which are still in directional travel, but at 160 psi plus this probably happens much further down the exhaust...<br>

Air flow around the head versus the manifold...<br>

Differential of heat within the manifold which can be coped with by Cast Iron but probably not by aluminium...nobody wants a warped flange!

What a response!<br>
Gone a bit tits up at the mo as we have so little work on<br>
all the pattern shop and foundry have been sent home for 3 weeks!<br>
Patt man says the core box would be a long time making<br>
if done in lunch times ( I'd never dream of doing homework in works time , honest! ) the inlet man for the webbs from memory would be a lot simpler. Sounds as though the original plan wouldn't have worked anyway...<br>
Best laid plans an all that...<br>
if the inlet man seems a goer, i'm prepared to do the leg work to make it happen, can even get machined faces/<br>
fixing holes done no probs! Though most you guys seem to have huge garages full of bridgeports ,lathes and spray booths.... im struggling with no driveway, not much money and a happy shopper skt set.<br>

Pattern time/development costs are lookin about 2K!!!<br>
Willing to stand this but dont wont to knock 4 out over 2 years!<br>
To make viable need a large amount of interest/buyers<br>
also, I love my dolly and all things related , but dont wanna do all this without me making dosh on it.<br>
Is it patented still? lots to confirm b4 I do anything..<br>
Also, would need one to look at/work from.<br>

They go for about £150 on ebay. This 'value' will diminish as supply outweighs demand.<br>

Economics are looking a bit shaky on this! I initially thought you were talking about a lunchtime job to get the tooling done on the cheap. Do you have a part cost on top of that tooling? If you do go ahead, you could probably sell some to Sprintparts in Oz.<br>

Did you see the thermostat housing? And the injector bosses? If anyone wanted to run injection it could do with some bosses for attaching a fuel rail too.<br>

Passed pics onto pattern maker, he's aware of whats involved.with the right info on injectors,location/angle etc, an extra "pad" could be added to the pattern for people to utilise if req'd,or simply leave or grind off if not needed..<br>
it seems a shame that these resources and my contacts in automotive tooling maybe wont be used..<br>
been quoted about £30-35 per casting and £25 for M/c<br>
These are from third parties as our overheads are pretty high and this reflects in our hourly rates..<br>
