One for a car thief....
My mate has locked his spare key in a Laguna and lost his other one...(dont ask but young women are involved as you probably guessed already). SO if we could get in to it we could use it again...

ANyone know how to get in to a Laguna 1 of about L reg?.

I thought about the sun roof being the likely cheapest bit of glass and the AA man was unable to get past the window seal. Any ideas? Or recomendations of sites to try would be gratefully received.

Such a crap car btw...so you dont need to tell me that.
It is indeed....
Yes its an L Reg Laguna RT with the central locking plip thing on the key...which is getting a bit iffr and is why they keep the spare inside the car...

Do you know a trick then...hears hoping.
Re: It is indeed....
I've heard of it done on other cars, but I'm not sure if it's possible in a laguna. check in the manual to see if the "blipper" recevier is under the bonnet. if it is, open the bonnet from underneath the car and jump the connectors from the central locking box, and the locks should pop open.

^
Cut a Tennis ball in half, place over the lock, making sure it is a nice flush fit, then thump it as hard as you dare without damaging the bodywork,at the same time pulling on the door handle. The central locking should unlock for a second then lock again..I learnt this when i was a car salesman back in the eighties, before my concience got the better of me! It used to work every time on motors back then that were locked with their keys in them on the forecourt..Not too sure if it works on more modern motors though..worth a try,and a cheap option.

Here's another way. Just spotted this on ebay...
cgi.ebay.co.uk/RENAULT-LAGUNA-TAILGATE-LOCK-MECH_W0QQitemZ4632838455QQcategoryZ10410QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

so I reckon the boot on a hatchback model is cable operated. Try getting a coathanger round it.

Re: It is indeed....
If he has the keycode just get a new key programmed and solve both problems at one go.

Re: It is indeed....
tennis ball will not work(only works on older audi style locks)
main dealer will want the car on site and a large sum of money

Using a wedge of wood pull back the top lip of the door, insert straighened coat hanger and blip the key fob

if car has winddown windows coathanger can be used to wind, tricky to do but possible

smash window, cheapest one being front door windows (easiest to replace)

There is a way to accivate the electrics which will either trip the central locking or allow you to open electric windows. if you want this option email me and i will talk you though it.

I used to do this for a living (legally) and the only car to defeat me was a new style focus!!!
Re: It is indeed....
I locked my keys in my dolly once. luckily I had left the boot unlocked. I undid the bolts holding one of my speakers to the parcel shelf to get a nice big hole to get into the car.

I then got a piece of washing line and made a hangman's knot at the end. Using a metre rule I draped the washing line over the seatbelt mount on the driver's side and down onto the lock knob on the driver's door.

I then held the line down with the rule until the knot was tight around the knob and then pulled it up, unlocking the front door. That was a great waste of 4 hours, and reminds me I really need to get another key cut.
If he had the key he wouldn't be asking how to get in.

Forget trying to open the bonnet from underneath the cable and lock's are well hidden and you'll need a ramp to gain access which could take a long time.

AA Man wasn't trying
Managed to get into these whilst I worked at a Renault Dealer (Snap On bit of kit ).
Coded key's take 5 Day's and need to be activated with the Central Locking button or Renault XR25 box of trick's depending on model?.
