And...

The rocker mechanism was used in the Rover 2600 straight six which was basically an ohc job on the T2000/2500 straight 6. Incidentally thats why one Sprint rocker is still plentiful and the other isnt.
I called in on Canley Classics on my way home on Friday to pick up some bits. While there I had a chat with Mr Pearson about his blog post. He wasn't aware of the cam direction problem. He has a number of ex Triumph contacts, I think he said including the head of experimental and the head of the Stag engine project. He's going to bear the problem in mind and see if he can get any more information next time he speaks to them. Don't expect any revelations too quickly.

He was aware that the bore sizes and offsets don't match so two custom heads would be required. Given his experience of the alloy 6 pot head currently ongoing he doesn't see that as a problem. The investment is significant but not prohibitive.

He has in the past attached two sprint heads to a scrap stag block just to see if they sit ok and they do, all the studs align even on the head fitted backwards.

Dave's eyes gleam at the thought of it so watch this space but don't hold your breath.

Has anyone got a pair of used stag head gaskets kicking about they could pass along to me? I think I've chucked out all my used sprint gaskets so I'd be grateful if one of those could be put in the dollymail system as well.
