Just came back from Mildenhall Suffolk watching a friend race a Reliant Robin .<br>
If you get a chance to see them at all have a look very funny once the fiberglass start's flying.<br>
<br>
Guess what else was on BANGER'S <br>
Not your average meeting but pre 1970's car's only.<br>
One race had fourtyish (40) Triumph 2/2500 saloon's and estate's.<br>
and there where three Toledo's.<br>
No Dolomite's at all.<br>
<br>
And before you say anything more the meeting was sponsored by a Triumph Specialist's.(NOT RIMMER'S)<br>
<br>
That should bring the 2/2500 prices up.

Fair enough banger racing is a cheap entry in to motorsport but why cant they use some sh*tty mk3 escort or some similar crap??

There are good, there are bad. There's lots of sides to the argument. A lot I've seen been used really, really can't be saved though. Quite ace to see them go out in a blaze of glory! <br>

Most of the classic banger guys do seem to be quite sound. The cars they race are usually complete rotboxes that they've had to do serious work to to avoid them buckling, and all of the hard to find bits (trim etc) are often removed before hand as there is value in them.<br>

To be honest, if there was a better market for these cars, there would be fewer of them being banger raced.

Well I had a look round most of them and rot boxe's.<br>
<br>
The only thing apart from stripping them out is a Steel Cage (2 Upright's with a crossbar) behind the seat's.<br>
Which the Battery and fuel tank are attached.<br>
<br>
There where also a couple of late entries that where stripping them out before the race.<br>
(Knicked on the way I suspect)<br>

WoW, in Airforce terms a form 252 issued against you means you have been a very naughty boy/girl!<br>
Further, the last three digits of my service number are 252. Most of us are known by our "last three" digits......!<br>
My "last three" have saved me from trouble a few times!<br>
I am sorry to see a FWD to be wearing my "last three" on a track though, as it was probably on it's way to being wrecked.<br>
Age old argument this one, to save or not to save........<br>

At the end of the day if we had the time and the skills our cars would be worth even less, as more would still be around.<br>
