Looking at this you might just be ok, just, if as you say the weight of the caravan is less than the unladen weight of the car.

Drivers who passed a car test on or after 1 January 1997 are limited to vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes maximum authorised mass towing a trailer up to 750 kgs, or a vehicle and trailer combination up to 3.5 tonnes MAM providing the MAM of the trailer does not exceed the unladen mass of the towing vehicle. You will need to pass an additional driving test in B+E if you wish to tow a caravan or trailer combination which exceeds these weight limits.

That was taken from the link in the above post, basically although my sisters horse trailer weighs only 250kg with the weight of her horse the total weight goes over 3500kg which on her licence was all she could drive.
You should be ok so long as the Max laden weight of the caravan doesn`t exceed the unladen weight of your dolly.

Nothing, actually it's less than that! The value is in the minus's. It'll probably cost YOU the price to post it. How nuts and totally made up is that!
Surely you must have to give him your Sprint?

"towbar for my Sprint" ahh! forget it.
Anyway, I would save your pennies for an engine rebuild.

Surely he's got a good few track days to go before he'll be needing to rebuild his motor?

Richard, I dont know if you've sent me a pm - I can't log on to Hotmail from work! my work email is 'graeme dot smith at wspgroup dot com' if you want to speak today.

Anyway I was thinking a token beer voucher type payment as the towbar is just a lump of scrap iron taking up space as far as I'm concerned. I really was considering chopping it up!
My sister is in Bristol Uni. She lives in the centre of Bristol. Maybe you could pass it on to her and she could lug it back here

Adam

Are you suggesting some sort of exchange of your sister for a towbar?

I'd have to check with the wife first but as long as she can cook and clean it seems like a fair swap

In all seriousness there is a deal to be done somehow. You know where I am, let me know what you want to do me babbers.
