AJP8 in a Dolomite Sprint Progress
AJP8 in a Dolomite Sprint Progress
Thing's are going really slow at the moment.
The gearbox Borg Warner/Tremec T5 has been stripped checked and rebuilt with new bearing's seal's and Input/Jackshaft's and new 5th gear's.

Another rear axle has been sourced Jensen Salisbury 4HA and is fitted with a LSD <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p"> Ratio is a tad on the wrong side but this can be changed later,
It need's to be narrowed and will be fitted with the Sprint mounting's along with a possible revised top mount's and a panard rod.

Engine,
Stripped down and checked,
Ex Tuscan race heads sourced (1 missing from engine when bought),
Crank's OK just needed a polish up new bearing's (Main's End's)
Piston's new along with new liner's (The old liner's can not be rebored without making the walls too thin and having custom forged piston's would cost a arm and leg.
Just waiting for a reply from tvr for some build spec's to fit the new liner's.

The Stag engine and Gearbox and other part's are all removed and sitting in a new home waiting for transpant<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /happy.gif ALT=":D"> .

Bigger Front Brakes (Photos on Triumph Owners Site) are fitted and I need to swap over the front subframe so the new one can be adapted for the AJP8 but cant do that till the engine back.

Ho Hum.

1980 Dolomite SprintV8 (Soon to be shoehorned with a 360bhp of TVR AJP V8 Pumping Alloy !)
2002 Citroen Xsara 2.0 HDi Estate.... Part's delivery Vehicle.
They laugh at me because I am different. I laugh at them because they are all the same!)

Good Luck Phil

The race is on as to who will be first to have a running trackday car!

Can't wait for all these modified Sprints to be seen together!
Re: AJP8 in a Dolomite Sprint Progress
Sounds like an ideal article for Retro cars. You know the type where they use a standard race-car like mine and then proclaim that all of them are better than mine!
WELL CHUFFED.

Finally today got to trial fit the AJP8 and T5.
Need to get the engine lower down ,Cutting the sump open to give clearance for the rack and crossmember,
Then when it's in it's final resting place then make up the engine and gearbox mounting's.

Brake Servo and Brake/Clutch master may have to be moved.
Suspension turret's will also need fettling so I can use the TVR exhaust manifold's.
I also had to cut and remove the front crossmember so I'll refabricate one when it's all back in.

Some photo's are on the Triumph Owners web site under TVR AJP8 http://www.Triumphowners.com/310
