1300 FWD, the latest weapon in the arsenal!

a variety of Triumph and other BL cars in my life I have to comment on the "better steel quality" of the 1300fwd.<br>
My mate had an E reg...needed new inner wings both sides before its 10th birthday. Gnerally ate doughnuts, ball joints, diaphrams and left me with the feeling that I was better off with my Farina Riley and later Z magnettes/ He of course worked and had more money to spend. I was a student... <br>
I then had a 66 2000....needed new cills at about age 15 but was quite a nice marque intro. <br>

I have 2 K/L plate early Dolomites. They have needed 3 cills between them in the I forget how many years I have owned them both. The paint on one is very sad now no complaints with the steel its made of..<br>
<br>
I reckon the steel/paint quality was at its best just after the Leyland merger before too many cost reduction programmes got in place and you still had a Canley workforce who took some pride in what they did.<br>

So its 70-74 for me...<br>
<br>
And the original Dolomites and early Sprints are the best of breed IMO...but you all now I think that.<br>
Nice window winders on the 1300...<br>

Which interestingly have been completely ripped off on the new Ferrari.<br>

Al, apologies for giving you misleading info on the clutch slave. I was only repeating what he the mechanic told me who in turn had been told that by somone who supposedly knows the cars!<br>

As I said in another post these things happen. The clutch still works so I'm happy.<br>

If the bleeding process completely fails to starts I find its always that little seal at the end of the springy bit in the master cylinder.<br>
Dont ask me why but it often fails after redoing the slave seals...maybe they dont like running dry after years of use..<br>
