Oh no...

#1 Post by 2F45T4U » Thu Aug 24, 2006 12:43 am

I don't think I can manage to go without my car, especially for a year

Went for a drive after work tonight, me and the car have got some kind of bond. It's going to be hard come Sunday to lock the garage it is going to rest in until I get enough time and money to get it back on the road!

I am absolutly gutted now, I think I'm going to drive all day tomorrow, Friday and Saturday.

Once you get to uni, you'll soon forget...much more interesting rides out there.

Did you see what I did there? OOH, suits you.

I missed my car a little at uni (quite a bit when I was bored) but thing to remember is that there are holidays, opportunities to come back and plenty of chances to go for a drive. Always a satisfaction coming back to XYJ in storage, cranking it over and having it fire up before storming down the A5

You'll be just fine!

Sell a kidney - that's sort out you dire finances for a while. You could phone round the insurance companies whilst you were recouperating and get a better deal. You'd even have enough to get the car through the MOT AND tax it. Plus you'd have a fairly interesting opening conversation piece which would elicit bags of sympathy from the nubile girlie students. A winner no matter which angle you look at it

I was never a student in the real sense of the word (Poor, surrounded by women and wondering where the next tin of beans was coming from) bacause I was paid to study.

Al's plan goes like this, join up, get drunk all over the world getting paid extra for doing so (no longer the case ) get the company to pay for all the qualifications I wanted (or at least 80%), train on the latest technology that the company posesses, become a teacher in said technologies and then bugger off to Saudi on a tax free lump sum teaching them how to use the technology they have just bought.
Ok so I've taken longer than your degree path, but Iv'e been paid a good wage for it. Something to think about

The most memorable time for me was sat in a bar in Dakar, drinking bubbly and surrounded by Naomi Campbell lookalikes (everyone of them!) trying to ply there trade. You takes your good times and your bad, but definatly better than a students union and nukie brown......
