webers

#1 Post by denis thompson » Thu Sep 21, 2006 5:49 pm

Can someone tell me if the Sprint was ever offered with twin webers instead of the SU's. The reason I ask is there is a Sprint that maybe for sale soon which has twin webers on but my BC Canada car registration looks at original or factory options for the insurance program for collector cars.
Like to know ( have 1977 sprint now)
thanks Denis

Dealer fit I think. I guess that means factory spec?

I beleive they were offered for homologation purposes. I have heard anecdotal tales of them being delivered with the webers in the boot which then were fitted by the dealer. Something like that
if they did ever come with them in the boot i didn't see any had loads of other bits in the boot though from the q control at leyland being nil.... in my years at a main dealership dare say they could be had from bl and others (at a price) but not as standard fitment
