Being forced by my children (ok, I didn't need much persuasion) to drive them to Grandma and grandpas in Warwick in the Dolly. Taking a nice slow drive up there because of the temp, the fact the car has been off the road for six months, and the fact I had my most valuables in the car.....passing a mint Inca Yellow 2500 estate pulling a caravan on the M40, parping horns, flashing lights, grins and waves all round....getting there to find she hadn't used any water or oil...and certainly a lot less fuel than the Golf would have done....

Driving back on my own, using the right foot a bit more (finding that the tacho needle does in fact go over halfway round the dial), cranking New Order, ELO and Black Sabbath onto the CD player so loud my ears are still ringing....and finding out she still hadn't used any water or oil....still having over half a tank, wifes at work, so blasting down to Ross and back just for shits and giggles....

Wondering when the grin will leave my face...if ever...

Ahh, and it's Friday, and there is a crate of Lager deposited in my garage fridge by my wife....

Life is great.

that the dolly driving position fits me perfectly.

On the M42, OD 4th, 3500 rpm, left foot on the little ridge just in front of the seat, left arm resting above the heater controls, right hand on the wheel and New Orders "Perfect Kiss" turned up to eleven on the stereo.

Did i mention i was happy?

I drive that road to Ross most weekends (will be coming up it this morning as it happens) Lovely until you get stuck behind a caravan... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">

We used to call the gear lever on Richs mums car the volume lever. I drove my car the other day, just about 300metres to give it a good clean before it went away. Its actually fairly powerful
