MODIFIED SPRINT CYL HEADS
MODIFIED SPRINT CYL HEADS
Just a couple of questions
Has any one had there sprint head modded
Ie gas flowed
If so who did it and what were the qualifications
What did they port the intake and exhaust ports too
Ie what size mm and why did they come to those sizes
What were the works race cars ports taken out to
Did they fit larger valves etc etc
Im intrigued.

Daz,

Not much room for larger valves, but the F3 heads had slightly larger ones. Whispers: I've got one in my garage if you want to come round and measure it.
Re: MODIFIED SPRINT CYL HEADS
No idea what sizes mine are, I suspect standard valves. A place in Coventry carried out the work under Jigsaw.
Thanks
people
It was probably ACE Andy chesman engineering that did your head,
Im going to gas flow a sprint cyl head
I have done a couple in the past but i now have the use of a flow bench and have learnt quite alot doing these cosworth heads not all turbo heads
Im also going to be fitting big valves as im sure this can be done by using offset valve guides ,removing the original valve seats welding the head up and machining the seats slightly offset to the originals
Then all i need is a engine to try it on.

Re: MODIFIED SPRINT CYL HEADS
ive gone down the same route as scott, not sure if there was any difference to the specs of port sizes etc, although im on DCOE 45's and scotts on DCOE 48's.

I have the spare engine for my toledo resting in hinckley if you need to boro it, and maybe accidentally leave the mod'd head on when it comes back...
Re: MODIFIED SPRINT CYL HEADS
Darren, just build me a mental race engine. You know it makes sense! I might even be able to pay you for it!

Seriously, if you wanted to try the head out on mine, we might be able to do a R/R run where I had mine done last time and compare the results.
