Buying a Dolly

Hi, Im new to dolomites but not new to classic cars as I own a few Marinas (Dont Laugh). Im quite keen to buy a dolly at somepoint soon however there are a few basics i wondered if you could help me on:<br>

Firstly what sort of panels are available from the club as i noticed that you remanufacutre some?<br>
<br>
Secondly which cars are the better ones to go for, with marinas the early cars pre 76 and the later cars are generally more solid, is this the case with dolomites ? preferably id like an earlier car but i assume these are more expensive?<br>
<br>
whats people's experience with ebay cars? ive seen quite a few sprints and 1850's advertised but im always slightly dubious about ebay.<br>

Several of us had Marinas...nuff said!<br>

The middle year cars used to suffer more than early or late, but generally now any that are left and its easy to spot the lemon!<br>
<br>
Ebay...go for it, bargains to be had; ask on here and a "local" will most likely look at it with you if indeed there is a local; we're like that you see.<br>

Welcome Will. I bought my 1500 on an R plate off the bay and have not looked back. Infact I now have a Sprint too!!!<br>
I registered here first and was pleasantly suprised by the welcome I got, so promptly joined the club and within weeks my car was on the club stand at the restoration show being worked on by all manner of strangers!!!<br>

I am very new here myself and don't know anything about cars (other than how to drive them expertly that is <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :lol --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /laugh.gif ALT=":lol"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> ) but I bought my 1850HL off E-bay for a mere £102!<br>
<br>
The Guru (Alun Nicholas) said I'd had a bargain! Solid body mostly, little rust, sundym windows, overdrive, previously owned by an elderly lady since 198?) and once cleaned, the interior will look ex-showroom! Free dog biscuits, old OS maps and peanuts (probably covered in chocolate in a previous life) to boot!<br>
<br>
If you don't mind travelling (I went to sunny Croydon from the West Midlands) there are lots of bargains to be had on E-bay. If the price is low enough, you can't really lose.<br>

Sounds like you got a bargain there on your 1850 dollybird <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :) --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> ,my mate had an 1850 hl auto which he sold recently on the bay - some of you might of seen it, it was early last month, blue in colour, 1976 and was in leamington spa - i would have hd it off him but im not really after an auto.<br>

I was really interested in the ex jigsaw sprint when it was up on ebay in november - i see its back on ebay now - was a bit worried it might have been thrased cos it seemed to be a bit of a test bed for jigsaws products? <br>

I shouldn't doubt the Jigsaw car was driven "Enthusiastically" by the previous owners, but those guys know an awful lot about these cars and if they say it's in good condition I would believe them.
